C0n.us is a great website builder that lets you build whatever the heck you want. You get 1 gb of space for free, 3 gb of monthly data transfer, and a huge variety of applications that you can freely and easily download, including Joomla, Wordpress, Xoops, and a whole lot more. the outside may not look like much eye candy, but the inside is wild. Of course, to install the applications you need to know a little bit about website designing, like what it means when it says something like target directory, which is really just the sites way of asking, which file should I download this application to? So check it out. It’s pretty awesome, although i’m set for now….paying.

Editors Note: In case you have  not read  the comment, C0n.us has now been changed to hostalo.com

5gb of memory.

There’s a deep rumor going around the web and it’s about Google buying Sirius, the radio station. Many have dismissed this idea, claiming it ridiculous, but it’s also the perfect buy for Google. By buying Sirius, Google will own five satellites, Three in space, one spare, and one in the making. These satellites can do a number of things besides broadcasting radio. It can broadcast television and ISP. Imagine Google owning an internet company. Better yet. Imagine Google owning a television Company. This is what will happen if Google decides to do this. Amazing. Courageous.
If they do this, will be able to provide in-car internet for on the road. Also, think of the Google Phone. Doing this will probably give us free internet on our gphones. Don’t just stop at there. If Google aquires a or makes a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) it will make the phone service free. Google is already interested in phone services (the gphone and 1800-goog-411) and oddly enough, internet connection services. A couple of weeks ago. There was a story about Google payingfor their project that would make an underwater cable to Australia, so they’d be able to pay less.

Although this is very exciting, and with this new technology, Google could potentially do anything (even take over the world), there are some serious facts that would be, in the tiniest way, scary. Google already has a lot of data about every one of us. From emails to word documents and from searches to phone numbers to possibly phone calls (once the gphone comes out. If Google buys Sirius, they may be able
to view what shows we watch, what radio stations we watch, and also *gasp!* Every single site we have ever been on.

But Google states that all of the data is just for their money making product, Adwords. I believe them. Do you?

Again, this is just a rumor; possibly true, but then again, maybe not.

[Editors Note: Fixed the misspellings of Sirius]

A few of these ideas came from here.

Ever since you had to start paying or Skype phone calls, I had my eyes wandering for a new free VOIP service. Today, I might’ve found it. Thepudding gives free phone calling to anyone within U.S. and Canada. The only catch is that a computer in the background translates what you and the person on the other line says. Then, it posts relevant ads about that topic. They claim to erase your conversation afterwards This shouldn’t be a problem for gmail users, being that a computer on gmail’s servers already reads your emails and then finds relevant ads. Everybody wins! Oh yeah. It’s in private beta right now. Sign up here!

Gmail 2.0. A Definite Discovery

September 23rd, 2007

In April 1st,  2005, Gmail, a new email service that revolutionized the way we use email, was born. Now, it’s been two years and no change has been made, but yesterday, a resounding discovery was made.  Garett Rogers from zdnet.com wrote an article about his (and a secret source’s) discovery. This discovery was made when a secret source was asked to translate snippets of words for gmail. One of the snippets was “newer version.” A few other ones were “Gears is not installed,” “Disable Local Store,” and a big snippet ( I’ll  summarize for you) talking about who signed, if they are still signed on, what computer, and what I.P. address was signed onto your account in the past few minutes, hours, or days. What do we know from this? Gmail 2.0 will have Google Gears integration, and a detector to tell you if someone snuck onto your account. I don’t know what the local store thing is, but I hope it’s good. The product is probably being tested, or being tested soon, by the Google Trusted Testers. If you are a Trusted Tester, please send me pictures of the new Gmail UI to trexicnet [at] gmail.com. (to everyone else: yes you can use this, but it is just a temporary email address until I can get everything settled out.)

An Awesome Facbook App: Bob Dylan

September 22nd, 2007

As a fan of Bob Dylan and Facebook, I am in love with this application. It won a Bob Dylan contest on Facebook to promote Bob Dylan’s new soundtrack and I’ll tell you, it made me aware of this new cd and also made me want to buy it a whole lot. This App is an edited version of Bob Dylan’s new or old (I forgot) music video. With it, you get to decide the text that goes on each page of the cards. To better understand this, here is the original version of the video.

Inventions Page is Working

September 22nd, 2007

Our users, go to our inventions page. The tool there is pretty darn cool.

Yesterday, a few people were chosen to go to a top secret meeting. So secret that they had to sign confidentiality agreements to not speak a word of it. However, the word was leaked. Google, it seems, is going to start creating a Facebook environment. On November 5th (unless Google changes the date), Google will release many new APIs for developers. They will start with services such as iGoogle and Orkut and move up to Gmail, Google Talk, and other Google services over time.

Hey Tmobile users. I was just walking down the street and saw a tmobile store that had a sign that said they were going to sell tmobile powered iPhones soon. Who knew? This doesn’t effect me, though, because I am a Verizon user and quite content until the gPhone comes out.
